When Corey booked a consult, he wasn’t new to the game.
His agency served dental specialists — orthodontists, endodontists, all the “-ists” — and he already had 7 clients paying $3.5K/month with almost zero churn.
But when we got into the real conversation, he dropped this line:
He wasn’t alone. Most smart entrepreneur/coaches feel this, that disconnect between what works and what actually feels right.
So he assumed the problem was in the cold outreach copy. Maybe he needed better targeting.
A stronger CTA. A more elegant hook.
But that wasn’t it.
His cold emails relied on inflated metrics and borrowed credibility. The kind of promises that work technically, but subtly degrade trust, not just with prospects, but with yourself.
❌ There was no clear transformation promise.
❌ No emotional bridge from who he was to who he served.
❌ No authority positioning that said, “We actually get you.”
His tactic was functioning, but it was misaligned with the values of the founder.
That misalignment is invisible in the data… but deeply felt in the body.
That’s why the tactic felt “gross.”
Because the signal was wrong.
Imagine your business is a radio station. Your music is excellent. The content is dialed. But if you’re transmitting on the wrong frequency?
No one hears you — or worse, the wrong people do.
Cold DMs and email blasts often broadcast the loudest, not the clearest. They chase attention instead of resonance.
And when the message doesn’t match your method, everything starts to feel off:
✔️ You get leads… but they’re not ideal.
✔️ You close clients… but don’t feel proud.
✔️ You build funnels… but still feel stuck.
That’s the trap Corey was in.
Funnels don’t create demand...
... they convert it when your authority signal is clear.
If your marketing feels misaligned, it’s not a tactic issue. It’s a truth issue.
